Dressmaker Price and Wishlist
$14.99, regional tiers, a 10% launch cut, and the only safe places to click.
On 7 September 2026, Cozy Lives published “Scalding September Tea” and named the Steam price: $14.99 USD, with regional pricing, and a −10% launch discount. That post is the source this wiki uses. Third-party price trackers that show some other Dressmaker, or a $9.99 game with a different app ID, are not this game. Dressmaker’s Steam ID is 4019220. It is not purchasable until 21 September 2026 unless Steam opens a pre-load that still is not the live shop.
The prototype on itch.io remains name-your-price, including free. Paying on itch.io supports the team; it is not a coupon for the Steam app. Do not harass support for a key because you dropped $5 on 0.5.5.
What $14.99 is meant to cover
The same news post compared the price to an older Free Lives campaign and then listed what Dressmaker is selling:
- About 35 hours of story commissions (off-the-rack extra)
- 150+ dress pieces
- 450+ fabrics
- 350+ accessories, all made in-house
- A promise of more free content and features after launch
That is the value argument. It is not a review score. If 35 hours of sewing is not your genre, wait for a later sale. If it is, the launch discount is a shallow 10% — typical Steam hygiene, not a fire sale. Wishlist emails for 10% are not guaranteed the way 20%+ discounts are; follow the store page if you care about the exact converted price in your region.
Regional pricing
“Regional pricing” means your Steam country currency may not be a naive USD conversion. Taxes, VAT, and Steam’s regional charts all apply. This wiki will not invent a yen or euro figure. Open the Steam store page while logged into the account that will buy the game. Gift-copy rules and family sharing follow Steam’s normal policies; family sharing is listed on the store.
Launch week is a bad time to buy a grey-market key. Official channels are Steam for the full game and itch.io for the prototype. Studio support is support@freelives.net if a purchase goes wrong after the play button exists.
Wishlists: official 200k+, scrapers vary
In July 2026 official news, the team wrote that a pigeon (their words) reported over 200,000 Steam wishlists on the same day they locked 21 September 2026. Earlier, a June press line cited about 60,000 around the Wholesome window, and a June 9 post celebrated 100,000. Those are studio communications at different dates.
Third-party dashboards often estimate far lower. They use models, not Cozy Lives’ private Steamworks graph. This wiki prefers the official claim and will not “correct” it with a scraper. If you cite wishlists, say “official July 2026 news claimed 200k+.” Do not paste a live counter we cannot verify.
Wishlist anyway. It is the only launch reminder that matters, and it is free. Use the button on Steam, not a browser extension that “auto-wishlists” fifty cozy games.
What you should not pay for
- APKs and Android ports. There is no official mobile Dressmaker. Those files are unrelated or worse.
- “Full Steam unlocked” exes. The Steam game is not out. Any full-game cracked zip in September 2026 before the store says otherwise is a scam or malware.
- Key shops with a different title. Other games named DressMaker exist. Check app 4019220, developer Cozy Lives, publisher Free Lives.
- Accounts selling Discord nitro plus a “Dressmaker code.” No.
If a YouTube video overlays a download button that is not itch.io or Steam, close it. The links hub is the allow-list.
Prototype money versus Steam money
Name-your-price on itch.io is optional and present-tense. Steam $14.99 is future-tense until 21 September 2026. You can do both: throw the prototype a few dollars because you already sewed, then buy Steam because you want the 35-hour shop. You can also play the prototype for $0 and still wishlist. Cozy Lives put the zip up as an invitation, not as a paywall.
When the 10% launch discount ends, the USD tag returns to 14.99 unless a seasonal sale says otherwise. Do not expect a 50% cut in week two. Do expect post-launch extras to be described as free in that September post; if that changes, it will be a new official Tea, not a leak on a key forum.
Keep this page beside Steam launch and the Updates Hub. Price is the number. Wishlist is the reminder. Prototype is the free-or-fair rehearsal. Anything else with a shopping cart and the word Dressmaker in the thumbnail is, until proven on Steam or itch.io, someone else’s store.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for launch week, the prototype, and the sewing loop.
How much is Dressmaker on Steam?
$14.99 USD, with regional pricing and a 10% launch discount, per official news on 7 September 2026. Confirm the converted figure on the store.
Does paying for the prototype get me the Steam game?
No. itch.io is name-your-price for 0.5.5. Steam is a separate purchase when the app ships.
Is there an official APK?
No. Skip mobile reuploads. Official files are Steam (upcoming) and the itch.io prototype listed on the links hub.
Why do some sites show ~30k wishlists?
Those are third-party estimates. Official July 2026 news claimed 200k+. This wiki quotes the studio and does not blend the numbers.
Will the 10% discount last all month?
It is described as a launch discount. Steam launch discounts are usually short. Check the store when 21 September 2026 arrives.
Where do I get a refund?
Steam refunds follow Valve’s rules after you can actually buy the game. Prototype payments follow itch.io. Studio mail is support@freelives.net for account mix-ups, not for demanding a key.
